...... If the end of the world is near, let us, at least, enjoy it! Nikolai Chernov

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Professor Nikolai Chernov who was born on November 10, 1956 and passed away on August 7, 2014. He was born in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, the elder son of Ivan and Galina Chernov. Nikolai studied at Moscow State University and worked in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research after completing his doctorate. A thousand times we needed him
A thousand times we cried
If love alone could have saved him
he never would have left us......

Veta, be strong! As we all love you.....

Kolya was our dear friend and colleague since many years ago at JINR Institute in Dubna.
He was a great personality, very gentle and intelligent, ready to help and understand.
Kolya was an outstanding mathematician.
It is so unfair that Kolya passed away so early. It was so painful
when everything happened, and it is still hard to believe.
There are no words to express our sadness and sorrow that Kolya is not
with us, that we never hear his gentle voice by telephone.
He will always be in our hearts and memories.
